Expert craftsmanship has informed some of Nike’s best releases in the past year. Since 2020, the brand has been rather forthright in their appreciation of Japanese technique as they’ve used many across silhouettes like the Air Force 1 and even the Air Jordan 4. 2021 seems to be continuing this trend, with the Blazer Mid invited along in its new “Sashiko” make-up.
Revealed in an “Indigo” colorway earlier this morning, the upgraded model seems to also be dressing up in a white, almost pink-seeming weave. The cross-hatch construction lines the entire side profile and toe, setting the backdrop for the Swoosh whose loose white threads mimic a hand-darned execution. Below, the tooling is relatively ordinary like the eye stay, heel tab, and overlaid panels above, each effectively eclipsed by the bright red string hung over top the tongue.

In other news, the Patta New Balance 991 finally has a release date.
UPDATE 1/28/2021:
Alongside the blue men’s pair, the women’s Nike Blazer Mid “Sashiko” will hit Asia retailers on Feb. 2nd.
