Towards the tail end of 2020, Nike revealed that the Air Structure Triax ’91 would be making its long-awaited return. And after surfacing in a number of retro-inspired schemes, the silhouette is finally ready to proffer the OG “Infrared.”
After its debut in 1991, the colorway only ever appeared once thereafter in 2008, with pairs seldom hitting the second-hand market. Thankfully, the upcoming 2021 edition fills the void with a near 1:1 spec, every one of the most important points brought back. Swooshes dress the side in their signature “Neo Teal,” matching the Air unit’s trim as well as the lateral’s topmost eye stay. The latter’s medial complement, in contrast, prefers the titular “Infrared” shade, setting the tone for the “Nike Air” embroidery at the heel and the vintage-esque branding that adorns the tongue. Elsewhere, the upper is effectively grounded in a wide-reaching neutrals, the whites, greys, and blacks worked into the mesh base, suede overlays, and black toe cap/accents, respectively.

In other news, Air Max 96 II OG Goldenrod is also coming back.
