The Air Jordan 12 “Taxi” To Return With Suede Mudguards

The Air Jordan 12 “Taxi” To Return With Suede Mudguards

As further reveals are beginning to confirm, Holiday 2021 marks an observable shift for Jordan Brand’s series of Retros. Rather than bring back the classics in true-to-original form, the Jumpman has opted to tweak them very subtly. For example, this upcoming Air Jordan 12 borrows the iconic “Taxi” colorway and gives it a slight makeover.

Though at a glance it may seem identical to its predecessor, this pair is said to provide a number of sizable changes, the most discernable of which being the mudguard. While it’s typically dressed in leather snakeskin, the latter is now subverting expectation with a blacked out, premium suede. Adjacent, the quilted side panels and tongue stick to a white leather, their tumbling framed by darker linings, midsoles, and the usual heel counter detailing. What’s more, it’s said that these will feature a substantial amount of “Metallic Gold” — the branded tab at the lower profile, the eyelets, and the Jumpman embroidery to name a few.

For a look at what to expect, see the mock-up above. These are currently expected to release in a full family size run some time during the Holiday 2021 season.

In other news, the Jordan 3 Pine Green is going to release around the same time.

UPDATE 3/1/2021:
The Air Jordan 12 “Taxi” is due to release on October 9th.
