Nike Sportswear’s “First Use” collection has taken a handful of iconic silhouettes and outfitted it with detailing commemorating the debut of the swoosh. Now joining the impending collection is a Nike Dunk High, which indulges in an off-white and green color palette.
Akin to accompanying pairs in the lineup, the forthcoming option features a mix of leather and suede across its upper. Both components, however, allow the profile swooshes to revel in the spotlight, as Carolyn Davidson’s iconic design celebrates its 50th anniversary on “June 18, 1971,” a date stamped on the lateral mid-foot. Although the sock-liner boasts varying iterations of the storied logo, lateral and medial profile swooshes also play into the mark’s history as those found on the former side indulge in a less-refined, vintage shape. Lowercase “nike” branding on the tongue label further nod to yesteryear, while dual laces and and shimmering lace jewel signify the shoe’s special quality.
