Jasmine Tang In recent months, Nike’s “Move To Zero” collection of eco-conscious styles has grown exponentially with an impressive roster of classic silhouettes dressed in innovative, sustainable materials. The initiative continues to expand with the addition of a women’s Nike Waffle Trainer 2 that takes the campaign’s “natural” theme even further by embracing fun, nature-inspired graphics.
This new pair indulges in a muted color palette that includes a “Cashmere” shade tinting the recycled canvas uppers. The base is then complemented by mint suede overlays on the toe and heel, as well as pink faux leather applied to the lacestays and heel tab. As a playful touch, the lateral side features an embroidered bee above the profile Swoosh. Whimsical embroidery is also found on the heel, where “JUST DO IT. NIKE” is displayed in a banner-like style. Cork materials construct the Waffle outsole, lace dubrae, and insole to round out the look with organic textures that align with the colorway’s “natural” concept.
