Michael Le Vault By Vans has presented a number of strong propositions in the past few months — most, however, being collaborations. But today, with the unveil of the brand new Boot Skoot LX, the sub-label is offering an entirely unique form inspired by the lesser known catalog of Vans surf boots.
The sport’s influence on the silhouette is clear even at a glance. In shape, the upper is sleek, form-fitting, its material aiding the glove-like fit with a wetsuit-esque neoprene. Premium leather and rubber overlays, then, add structure atop, shaded in complement to the base underneath, which arrives in either a white or black-dominant colorway. Elsewhere, velcro and zip closures fasten the collar, a see-through parametric waffle sole cushions underfoot, and a jazz stripe brands the side in a fashion not too unlike the beloved Sk8-Hi.
