Throughout its near-20-year-history, Nike SB has produced some of the most compelling, story-driven product in the footwear industry. Oftentimes, the skateboarding-obsessed imprint has achieved kudos from its core demographic and casual fans alike by referencing other products under the NIKE, Inc. banner. For its latest Nike SB Dunk High, the “Flint Grey/Medium Grey/Flamingo” colorway is borrowed from the Nike ACG Superdome boot.
A side-by-side comparison between both propositions reveals a similarity in the upper’s nubuck-like overlays, which indulge in the pair’s darkest shade of grey. Yet, the Nike Dunk‘s use of “Flamingo” and light chambray tones are scare, almost-exclusively appearing on the tongue label. By contrast, the snow-ready Superdome features a vibrant pink strip running from vamp to heel, with the “acg”-branded tops of tongue also getting dipped in the eye-catching rose color. Hits of the boot’s animated styling appears elsewhere on the SB offering, but sole units underfoot primarily revert to a simple “yin-and-yang”-appropriate arrangement.
According to @nikesbornothing on Instagram, a stateside Nike SNKRS launch has been scrapped, with an impending launch ready for the U.K. and Europe. In any case, enjoy official images of the pair here below.
