If there was a knock on the ACG Mountain Fly Low, it would be the lack of GORE-TEX. The lower-cut iteration of the widely popular ACG Mountain Fly was as impressive in design, but without that protective layer, utility gear meant for the great outdoors just isn’t the same. However, it seems that Nike had plans to include GORE-TEX all along, and it’s seen here in this varied SE trim of t he silhouette called the ACG Mountain Fly Low GTX SE.
While the overall construction appears similar to the Mountain Fly Low, this SE trim sees a complete modified upper with a unique wide lacing system that harnesses down the middle, essentially creating two zones of lockdown. Gone are the grid patterns, replaced by an exterior layer that uses the same tape seams to ensure no leakage. Ample ACG markings are found on the tongue and insole, while the heel pull-tab ensure GORE-TEX. In keeping with the ACG color identity, a “Sea Glass” colorway identical to an earlier release returns, but with solid gum soles.
It is likely that the ACG Mountain Fly Low GTX SE is part of Nike ACG’s Spring 2022 collection, so expect a release sometime in the coming weeks.
