At its core, Jordan Brand is a performance-basketball-obsessed company, but it’s expanded its purview over the years to include other parts of Michael Jordan’s legacy and interests. Case in point: the baseball-inspired Jordan Series Mid .03, which has recently debuted in a predominantly “Black/Elemental Gold” colorway.
A taller iteration of the Jordan Series .03, the newly-surfaced silhouette resembles Nike Basketball classics from the 1970s, though Jumpman logos on the tongue, lateral heel and sock-liner firmly place the model within #23’s team. A mix of leather, canvas and suede makes up the entirety of the upper, with much of the forefoot area donning a brownish color. The tongue and panels at its side also opt for a wheat-reminiscent tone, with lower heels opting for a darker shade of the fall and winter-ready hue. Midsoles on the lifestyle-oriented offering deviate in stark “White” contrast, but the multi-directional outsole reverts to an appropriate “Light Gum Brown” arrangement that’s sure to lead some former nay-sayers to add the non-Air Jordan to their collections.
