Well before its official debut, the adidas YZY QNTM was one of the most desirable offerings in the line-up, with some even trading in their Fear of God 1s for an early pair. But since that All-Star Weekend, the silhouette can barely keep up to the Yeezy Slide or Foam Runner, and some colorways even struggle to sell out. It’s possible that things will change this year, though, as the basketball kit is expected to return in “Mono Carbon.”
A return to the shoe’s roots, the colorway features a standard Primeknit construction and monofilament inserts. Both dark and light greys dress the upper’s profile, highlighting the subtle pattern that weaves throughout. Black, as per usual, dyes the synthetic tongue and collar, while the heel opts for a slate finish not unlike what’s found across the side. Finally, textured suedes accent the toe and bright yellow the entirety of the midsole.

In other news, the Air Jordan 6 UNC releases this weekend.
