With the Pegasus 39 just weeks away from a release, we bring to you a first look at the next iteration of the storied Pegasus running shoe line from Nike. Year after year, Nike delivers minor tweaks and subtle updates to the model to fine-tune the fit, but the cushioning package usually stays relatively unchanged. If that’s the case for the Pegasus 39, runners should expect a full React foam sole with forefoot Zoom cushioning (as noted by the Zoom logo hit).
Some changes we notice is the lace eyelets that act similarly to Flywire lockdown cables that provide more of an individual fit. The tapered heel now features a short “bumper” with a Swoosh logo hit with textured treatment that provides a stylish take on the molded aerodynamic shape. The outsole traction is quite similar to the Pegasus 38, so expect similar capabilities on that front.
Nike is set to make an official announcement on the Pegasus 39 soon. The shoes are currently scheduled for an April 28th release date with an MSRP of $120, although it is unclear if the debut release is this white/crimson/royal colorway you see here. There are likely a variety of color options as well as Nike By You capability in the works throughout Summer 2022 and the rest of the year as well.
