Sneaker News Nike Basketball has a wide assortment of high-performance footwear coming in the form of signature shoes and prized in-line models. The ground-breaking LeBron 20 is set to debut sometime in September, while the Greater Than series looks to usher in the much-anticipated sequel in the GT Cut 2. Now, Nike is presented the second iteration of the sustainability focused Cosmic Unity, presenting a wild new re-design that will have no trouble standing out on the hardwood.
The Cosmic Unity 2 transfer over some key design and structural elements from its predecessor – namely the proprietary Crater Foam exterior and the ZoomX insole made from recycled materials. A textured pattern, similar to outsole traction, is used atop the Swoosh logo, which is connected to the flex-grooved modsole. The upper and pull-tabs are likely comprised of repurposed material as well.
Each pair possesses its own unique set of details that attribute to a specific story; for example, the crimson red pair is made for WNBA star A’ja Wilson and is inspired by Hattie Rakes, Wilson’s caretaker when she was born.
The Nike Cosmic Unity 2 is set to debut sometime in August, with a variety of colorways confirmed to hit Nike.com and partnering retailers throughout the Fall and Holiday 2022 season.
