As the pinnacle of reimagined Dad sneakers, Aimé Leon Dore’s reintroduction of the New Balance 550 in 2020 has quickly profered the footwear brand’s most coveted silhouette. While its upper-echelon collaborations reign in popularity, a bevy on in-line offerings continues to be delved out by the Boston-based brand as evident by this Maroon and Navy accented proposition.
The typical all-white leather construction of the model is employed across the entirety of the forefoot and perforated overlays of the midfoot, complimenting the back tab, tongue and laces. A deep shade of “Burgundy” treats the upper heel including the inner lining while Navy Blue overlays connect to the remaining colorless upper. The two-tone palette is further applied to the various logos, rendering the “N” and quarter overlays “550” branding in blue with maroon accents while the heels “NB” opts for the latter tone exclusively. Underfoot, the tread is clad in Rosewood and Light Grey presiding beneath cream and blue accents gracing the midsole in conclusion.
