Much more selective in offerings compared to its low-top counterpart, the Nike Air Force 1 Mid continues to differ up the AF1-heavy palette from the Swoosh during its 40th anniversary celebration. Taking inspiration from the year that proffered the highly touted Japanese-inspired “Shima-Shima” pack, the latest mid-cut silhouette mirrors the “Tokyo ’03” scheme of the Air Trainer 1.
Employing a simple two-toned color blocking throughout the upper, the model’s blank underlying panels bear a crisp white hue while its overlays and midfoot strap come treated in purple-dyed crocodile leathers whereas its midfoot checks and back tab render a smoother textile. Synonymous embellishments adorn the heel counter with an embossed “TYO 03” insignia in addition to the silhouette’s “Metallic Silver” hang tag holding “Ghost Green” accents. Underfoot, the model concludes amidst a clad “Sail” sole unit allowing the vibrantly-colored upper to take the main stage.
