Jayson Tatum’s Jordan JT1 “Archer Ave” Inspired By His Hometown

Jayson Tatum’s Jordan JT1 “Archer Ave” Inspired By His Hometown

A fresh wave of signature athletes signifies a new chapter in the annals basketball shoe. Nike just unveiled new colorways and details surrounding Ja Morant’s Nike Ja 1, but Jordan Brand’s got an ace up its sleeve as it prepares the debut of Jayson Tatum’s Jordan JT1.

Already revealed in a black/red colorway, the JT1 is bound to see some Celtics-themed executions as well as a variety of concepts inspired by Tatum’s upbringing in the south. Today, we’re seeing a sample of the latter with this pair clearly derived from his hometown in St. Louis, with the “Archer Ave” street sign behind the right tongue denoting the All-Star’s hometown (he’s got a giant tattoo of it, too). The fleur-de-lis emblem on the right heel is a clear nod to the area, while the combination of colors — white, red, blue, and gold — touch on the city’s official flag.

Jayson Tatum’s signature shoe is almost certain to release during the 2023 NBA season; key dates to look for a debut are the All-Star Game and the NBA Playoffs, so stay tuned for updates.
