Michael Le It’s been over three years since the unfortunate passing of both Kobe Bryant as well as his daughter Gigi. Though gone, neither have been forgotten. Far from it, in fact, as Nike has been immortalizing their legacy through product, continuing to release several of the Lakers legend’s most important signatures. And with the Mambacita’s birthday fast approaching, it’s only appropriate the brand craft her a very special colorway of the Kobe 4 Protro.
Flipping the color scheme of 2022’s Kobe 6 Protro “Mambacita,” the Nike Kobe 4 Protro “Gigi” is dressed almost entirely in white. The neutral runs up and down the profile — marking the heel piece, midsole, and tongue alongside — while black details many of the adjacent accents, including but not limited to the Swoosh, the plaid print around the rear of the shoe, and the “GIGI” embroidery stamped just above. What’s more, the pair highlights the “2” markings (Gigi’s jersey number) and Kobe logo in a gilded finish.
