Jovani Hernandez NIKE, Inc. has benefitted from hip-hop culture since the dawn of the genre. To celebrate 50 years since the musical style was born in The Bronx, the Swoosh has prepped special editions of the Nike Blazer Mid ’77 and others.
Like other Nike Sportswear silhouettes made for the occasion, the Nike Blazer features a greyscale arrangement. Tumbled leather across the upper indulges in an off white tone that’s interrupted by spray-painted swooshes on the sides; “NIKE”-branded heel panels also follow suit. Sole units underfoot take on a solid grey finish that contrast the upper well. Elsewhere, collection-specific logos land on the tongue label and sockliner. A silver microphone hangtag rounds out the commemorative sneaker.
