From investing in the WNBA to releasing women-led product, Nike has been committed to growing the woman’s game. Now, the brand adds one of the most dynamic young athletes in the WNBA to its roster of signature athletes.

Sabrina Ionescu, point guard for the super-team New York Liberty, joins a highly-exclusive group of powerful athletes that includes Serena Williams, Megan Rapinoe, Naomi Osaka, Elena Delle-Donne. Ionescu, however, is the first woman athlete to deliver a full unisex collection, with insight from both female and male athletes.

The Sabrina 1 signature shoe features a cushioning set-up that has been the weapon of choice for hoopers for over a decade. With a package that includes fore-foot Zoom, React Foam, a mid-foot shank, and lockdown system at the mid-foot, the Sabrina 1 is poised to perform on par with Nike’s current product line designed for players who rely on quickness, acceleration, and lockdown.

The personalized details are where the Sabrina 1 get that nuanced touch we’ve come to expect from Nike. The intricate patterns seen on the overlay and medial Swoosh logo are a nod to her Romanian heritage, while the letter “i” starts at the forefoot of the outsole and scoops up to the dotted letter just below the achilles. Finally, a bold message of “Anyone, Anywhere” is embedded into midsole, reflecting Sabrina’s competitive spirit while encouraging inclusivity.

The entire Nike Sabrina 1 footwear and apparel collection is set to release this Summer 2023.
