The past few months however have rumored the potential raucous return of the beetle shell-inspired silhouette, kicking things off this April with the reinstallation of the Foamposite One “Penny PE”.
Worn throughout the 1997-98 season while appearing on the cover of Pro Basketball Magazine, the Penny Hardaway-endorsed model instigates the return of one of the four-time All-Star’s most obscure player exclusives. Receiving a clad coat of white atop its molded upper, staple jet-black hues contrast the tumbled leather quarter, tongue construction and laces for a centralized swatch of pitch-dark embellishments. Penny’s iconic 1 Cent logos deliver a clean assist in their usual placements with a “University Blue” twist atop the tongue tab and heel counter before the sole unit indulges in the silhouette’s staple semi-translucent finish.
