The Swoosh is no stranger to the odd reimagining, often reworking both their silhouettes as well as their branding. And looking back on many of their past experiments, Nike clearly shows an affinity for one theme in particular: “Split.”
Nike has spent the better part of 2023 chopping up the uppers of many an iconic sneaker. And after playing around with the likes of the Dunk Low and Air Trainer 1, the brand is now diverting their attention to the Blazer Mid ’77. Here, the high-top model is receiving the same treatment as its several counterparts: alongside featuring spliced Swooshes and logos, the pair’s heel is cut out and patched with suede materials. The midsole, then, simulates this execution with a split coloring.
