A cousin to both the Air Ship and Nike Legacy, the silhouette once synonymous with John Thompson’s mid-80s Georgetown Hoyas squads now enacts a tribute to another Big East school steeped in hoops history.
While St. John’s was one of the original eight Nike-sponsored programs featured in the BTTYS pack, the Queens, NY university doubled up on its Nike hoops attire with a color-matched Terminator back in the day. Bursting out of the vault decades later, the brand’s first-ever signature school shoe stays true to form through its pairing of supple crisp white leathers with dominant hits of “University Red”. Bearing the silhouette’s nostalgic “NIKE” branding embossed into the heel, the simplistic two-toned ensemble keeps things smoother than Mark Jackson’s lay off the glass.
