At the very beginning of the year, it was confirmed that the Air Jordan 11 “DMP” would be making a comeback during the Holiday 2023 season. And though originally expected to be true to original spec, it was later confirmed that the Retro would alter the colorway’s usual construction, swapping out canvas for a premium leather. The modern take has been dubbed “Gratitude” by Jordan Brand itself.
Returning for the first time in 17 years — though in a form much different than that of its 2006 counterpart — the Air Jordan 11 “DMP” originally belonged to the “Defining Moments Pack,” which saw the iconic silhouette coupled with the Air Jordan 6. But unlike the black-dominant colorway of the latter, the two-part collection saw MJ’s eleventh signature dressed in a way similar to the “Concord,” featuring a white upper as well as a black patent mudguard. The pair did, however, swap out the OG offering’s typical branding for logos cast in gold. With the exception of the canvas upper — herein replaced with a premium leather — all of these details are brought back for the 2023 Retro.
