Update: The Nike Runtekk has been renamed to the V2K Run.
—
Amidst the sneaker ecosystem’s current obsession with chunky dad shoes, brands from across the industry have begun returning to their archives filled with staple running silhouettes while some have instead engaged in all-new material. Enter the Nike Runtekk, the Beaverton brand’s all-new lifestyle solution draped in Y2K energy.
Initially revealed back in March, the nostalgic silhouette comprises elements from the brand’s various OG racing toolings with a comfortable mesh base layer, reinforced TPU overlays and an enlarged Cushlon cushioning system. Aside from the forest green mid-foot Swoosh and clarifying black trim, the entirety of the upper assumes a blank white canvas complimented only by the appearance of green tongue logos. Underfoot, the palette strikes up a bit more flavor as a vibrant cream tint imbues the midsole with a neutral interjection while the tread, shank and heel clip balance out the dominant use of green.
Enjoy official images of the Nike Runtekk “White/Green” below while we await the pair’s debut in July for a retail price of $110.
In other news, Jordan Brand is bringing back the circa 2008 “Fear Pack” with the Air Jordan 3 for Holiday 2023.
