Vans Adds Fuel To The Sk8-Hi “Flames”

Vans Adds Fuel To The Sk8-Hi “Flames”

Initially catching our attention with the electric “Lightning” take on its shoes, Vans is heating up the conversation once more with their “Flames” get-up.

Immediate comparisons were made with Ian Connor’s Revenge x Storm footwear. Itself a rip of the Old Skool, Connor’s most recognizable shoe to date is known for its use of a lightning bolt in place of the side-stripe. So, when Vans revealed its own take by adding a protruding lightning bolt to the exterior on the rubber vulcanized sole, the Twitter-verse came out in full force, with Connor himself chiming in.

Now, Vans is executing the same style of extending midsole applique with fiery flames; seen here on the Vans Sk8-Hi, this newest take on the classic skate shoe sees the curved peaks of flames extend into the upper. The lace collar also adjusts itself for that flame-y aesthetic at the upper most lace eyelets.

Two colorways are currently in the works and should arrive on Vans.com very soon for $85 each.
