Swapping out the usual materials for canvas, the Air Jordan 1 KO was positioned as a cheaper alternative to its leather-constructed counterpart. And while not nearly as popular as the latter, the silhouette still played an important part in the history of the Jumpman. In recent years, the brand has made a concerted effort to keep the sneaker top of mind, ushering in both low-top and high-top colorways alike.
For its appearance this September, the Air Jordan 1 KO is looking well beyond the inception of the brand itself, paying homage to Michael Jordan’s days at Laney High School. Much like many a similar release before it, this pair incorporates the institution’s signature colors throughout its upper. “True Blue” dresses both the nylon tongue as well as much of the side profile, while “Topaz Gold” highlights the toe box, Swoosh, ankle flaps, and laces. The warm and cool tones also paint the Nike logo and Wings branding, respectively, rounding out the shoe alongside the “Sail” midsole.

In other news, official images of the Air Jordan 2 Black Cement surfaced earlier this morning.
