Despite debuting in 2010, the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 continues to play an important part of the brand’s roster of products.
Seen sparingly throughout the last decade, the Cushlon-cushioned silhouette has exploded in popularity over the last nine months thanks to a concerted effort by the brand to capitalize on consumer interest for comfortable retro runners. Uniform finishes have been commonplace on the fifth Nike Vomero offering, with handfuls of experimental styles also landing on the sneaker. Recently, a predominantly grey, red, and blue-colored option surfaced, introducing new design cues to the lineup. A checkerboard pattern lands on the tongue label and appears via a non-standard tag on the lateral swooshes, suggesting the shoe is part of a special collection. Elsewhere, the Cushlon midsole opts for a “dirty” aesthetic that falls in line with other offerings from NIKE, Inc. All together, each aforementioned component helps expand the Zoom Vomero 5’s non-performance legacy 13 years after its launch.
No firm nike.com launch date has been confirmed by the brand, but that’s likely to change soon. In the meantime, enjoy official photos of the pair ahead.
