Jovani Hernandez The Nike Kobe brand officially relaunched last month to coincide with the late Kobe Bryant’s birthday week. The Swoosh and the late Bryant’s estate continue to unveil new product on their own, but unofficial channels have also been revealing upcoming styles, which now include the Nike Kobe 4 Protro “Bicoastal.”
A new take on an old sneaker, the “Bicoastal” offering is covered in a greenish tone. Scale-like detailing appears across the forefoot, mid-foot, and collar, referencing the late Bryant’s “Mamba” alter ego while also nodding to aquatic creatures present on both coasts of the U.S. The Zoom Air-assisted sole unit favors a grayscale finish that also appears throughout the upper. Kobe Bryant‘s signature on the plastic heel clip introduces a vibrant yellow into the mix, interrupting the understated ensemble.
