The Bodecker Foundation Auctions Off A 1-of-1 Dunk High From Before The “Be True To Your School” Era

The Bodecker Foundation Auctions Off A 1-of-1 Dunk High From Before The “Be True To Your School” Era

The Dunk’s origins are closely intertwined with the “Be True To Your School” pack, as the collegiate colorways were among our earliest introductions to the Peter Moore-designed silhouette. But little did we know that Rodney Tallman was holding onto a very special pair from before the collection’s debut, one gifted to him by none other than the late and legendary Sandy Bodecker back in 1985.

Unlike that of the BTTYS pack, this Dunk High — affectionately dubbed the “Pre Be True To Your School Sandy Bodecker One of a Kind Shoe” — features a color blocking quite a bit different from the two-toned look to which we’re well-accustomed. Here, a deep maroon is applied throughout every part of the upper save for its Swoosh, the latter of which is dressed in a yellow shade similar to the adjacent laces and Nike branding. Elsewhere, the tongue and midsole opt for a white finish, while the outsole boasts the same shade of red as much of the rest of the shoe, albeit a bit more faded.

Almost four decades later, the “Pre Be True To Your School Sandy Bodecker One of a Kind Shoe” is now up for auction right now on eBay.com, with proceeds to go to the Bodecker Foundation.
