A Salehe Bembury x Crocs Pollex Shoe Is On The Way

Expanding the Crocs Pollex Pod universe.

A Salehe Bembury x Crocs Pollex Shoe Is On The Way

According to Salehe Bembury, the Crocs Pollex Shoe is set to debut as part of his Spring/Summer 2024 efforts.

The most recent look at the shoe reveals a fingerprint-inspired tooling similar to other work between Bembury and the Colorado-based footwear brand. The upper, however, features a shoe’s traditional build. An official name for the model hasn’t been disclosed by any part involved, but it’s possible the upcoming release draws inspiration from running sneakers and low-top hiking boots given the mesh inner-lining, medial shank, and perforated overlays across the upper.

Salehe Bembury recently took to Instagram to share some details behind an upcoming Crocs collaboration.

Filed under the title “Hidden Decadence,” Bembury has displayed a Crocs Pollex Shoe (unofficial name) via a frost-tinted box. The latest teaser image doesn’t reveal all of the design’s details, but confirms that the model takes on more robust footwear cues than Bembury’s clogs and slides. The pair also doesn’t feature a boot-appropriate height, but could lead the charge for a high-top.

Salehe Bembury is never not working.

The last few years have seen the American designer go from relative obscurity to evangelizing New Balance and Crocs to the masses. The New York-native’s partnership with the latter has been especially unexpected, but it’s not slowing down. In April, the Colorado-based company announced Bembury’s appointment as Creative Director of the Pollex Pod collection, a stand-alone branch that merges Crocs and Bembury’s identities. Options like the Pollex Clog and Pollex Slide have been widely successful, bringing hype to the company so-often ridiculed for its function-first products. And while it’s unlikely the partners will abandon these two silhouettes, the Salehe Bembury x Crocs collaboration is surely exploring other designs. The 30-something-year-old might’ve just teased the next offering from his successful linkup: the Crocs Pollex Boot.

An avid lover of nature and hiker, Bembury has explored the great outdoors in form and fashion across most of his collaborations. Recently, the Los Angeles-resident took to Instagram to share a closeup shot of what seems like the most protective Crocs design under his belt yet. The photo seemingly captures the shoe’s medial side, showcasing what looks like a mid-foot shank and part of the outsole. Each component follows similar design guidelines to other Crocs Pollex products, but a mesh panel joins the mix on the unreleased offering. An abstract pattern covers the upper’s base layer, with salmon tones sharing the spotlight with hits of black, green, and blue. It’s possible the recently-teased silhouette isn’t a boot given the mesh panel at the profiles, but what’s certain is that the product is more rugged than both the Pollex Clog and Slide, which allows Bembury and Crocs to capture more segments of the market.

Enjoy a teaser image of the unnamed model ahead, and stay tuned for updates.

In confirmed sneaker releases, the Air Jordan 11 “Gratitude” is set to launch in early December.
