Donovan Mitchell‘s future with the Cleveland Cavaliers is uncertain, but what’s already set in stone is the launch of his fifth signature model, the adidas D.O.N. Issue #5. The silhouette will release in a number of styles come October 15th, including a “Cloud White/Core Black” option aptly dubbed “Stormtrooper.”
Similar in height but sleeker in shape to its immediate predecessor, the D.O.N. Issue #5 features TPU components, synthetic panels, and mesh pockets throughout the upper. Perforations appear across the forefoot, while a bootie-like build peeks out at the ankle à la Anthony Edwards’ adidas AE1. The “Stormtroopher” moniker fits well with Mitchell’s unreleased proposition given its mix of materials, which include glossy accents. Lightstrike cushioning reappears on the basketball sneaker, delivering reliable performance in a lightweight package. Outsoles favors classic herringbone patterns, although two zones opt for radial-patterned traction. Each aforementioned part of the shoe, however, indulges in the two-tone color scheme suitable of the Star Wars-related nickname.
Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead, and anticipate an adidas.com launch on Tuesday, October 24th. The D.O.N. Issue #5 is priced at $120 USD.
