As it turns out, there are not one, not two, but three different Air Jordan 2 Low releases made to celebrate Chinese New Year. And based on newly revealed images by sneaker retailers overseas, each pair will be equally tough to track down.
It appears that Jordan Brand designed distinct styles of the shoe for men, women, and kids. The men’s pair is by far the most decorative as it features a sea of dragons embroidered on the sail colored upper. The women’s pair tones it down, showcasing a scaly upper quarter to honor both the Year Of The Dragon and the exotic materials originally used on the silhouette. The third GS pair features a variation of the core color story, with sail, oil green, dark team red, and metallic gold thoughtfully blocked throughout the shoe.
All three pairs are individually numbered to 2,024 pairs via labels behind the tongue. The limited nature of each release may stir up the demand, as a finite number of pairs has always generated intrigue amongst sneaker collectors. All three are currently scheduled to drop on January 24th, 2024, although its regional distribution will likely be limited to the Asia region where the Lunar New Year celebrations are more localized.
