The Nike Air Force 1 Does Its Best Loafer Impression With Wingtip Styling

Loafers are in right now, and Nike knows it. While we probably won’t see the sportswear brand go full steam ahead on this particular trend with an actual pair of leather, platformed shoes, Nike has proven its ability to tastefully apply sought-after aesthetics to its most iconic silhouettes.

The Beaverton brand does just that in its latest Air Force 1 delivery, calling in tassels and perforations similar to what you might find on a loafer shoe. These design cues present themselves on the heel, where the “Nike Air” tab extends beyond the stitch into tasseled leather, and on the edges of the quarter panel. The rope laces on this pair add to the overarching theme, while subtle green Nike branding adds a splash of color against the all-white base.

We’ve seen similar transformations in the golfing sector; back in 2006, Nike dropped the SB Dunk “Golf” with its own wingtip styling, complete with lace shrouds to mimic that country-club look.

Enjoy detailed images below while we wait on official release information.

In other news, the Nike Dunk Low Twist just surfaced in “Mocha” coloring.
