The Air Jordan 1 Mid has long offered less hyped, more affordable alternative for sneakerheads looking to get in on the AJ1 craze. Given their lower price point, they’ve also provided opportunities to either think outside the box or preview stylistic choices that end up on other Jordan Brand silhouettes. While we can’t see the future, we can see that the embroidered swoosh featured on the upcoming “”White/Black/Sail/Blue” is a swing we haven’t come across before.
Although the Jordan 1 High has begun to get more experimental in its palettes, historically the Mid has featured more off-the-wall colors and blocking than their high cut counterparts. That’s true with this “White/Black/Sail” pair, most clearly in the four brown leather strips at the back. The shade doesn’t appear anywhere else on the shoe, and the black in the sole is only mirrored underneath said panels.
While that color combination certainly lends a dressy, upscale atmosphere to the shoes as a whole, they make the scheme nearly devoid of comparisons in other AJ1s. The four dominant shades here, split between loafer-esque and UNC make them also veer into mashup territory, a solitary claim that’s only offset by the centered, embroidered Swoosh. Responding in kind, the Wings logo gets the same ice blue, stitched on treatment, flipping the typically depressed logo on its head structurally.
If the out-of-left field choices made on this pair of Air Jordan 1 Mid SE’s have caught your eye- you’re in luck. Tese have already been made public, and for $135, you can get your hands a pair via the Nike website. Before you head there, head further down this page for the full gallery of official images.
