Amid mania around the Nike Air Max Dn and the Air Jordan 4, stealthily the Nike Lunar Roam stands as an understated Nike (re)launch for this year. Bearing the Swoosh’s Lunarlon signature running tech from the 2010s reinterpreted through a modern lens, the latest Nike Lunar Roam opts for a delicate “Summit White” colorway that inches closer to the brand’s trademark “Triple White.”
The operative words there are “inches toward.” Though this edition of the Nike Lunar Roam couldn’t be more airy, there are a few choice sections that keep this from being a totally monochromatic colorway. Notably, the cages that sit below Magwire cables take on a “Phantom” barely beige shade, while the even lighter tan of “Light Bone” dots the midsole and mesh towards the forefoot.
Though it’s always just a matter of time before Nike’s silhouettes get an all-white edition, it’s a bit surprising for the Lunar Roam to receive it given the dark and bright leanings of their first few colorways. See the “Alabaster,” “Pink Sherbet,” or “Triple Black” releases for proof.
Either way, the desaturated formula at play here is one that works for a reason, and one that succeeds again on this new-meets-old model. The Nike Lunar Roam “Summit White/Phantom/Light Bone” is not currently slated for a particular release date. In lieu of that, anticipate men’s sizing arriving in the next several weeks, carrying a $150 retail price.
In some release news for the Swoosh, the similarly clad Air Jordan 4 “Sail” drop this weekend.
