Updated June 7th, 2024: New in-hand images of the Air Jordan 5 “Reverse Metallic” just landed. While the clean arrangement we caught with the first looks remains in-tact, the new shots provide easily our best understanding of this pair’s layout yet, carried by a grayscale palette and some beige contrast via the matching lace locks and outsole. The Air Jordan 5 “Reverse Metallic” is currently set for a December 7th release date and a $200 retail price. Catch the full gallery just ahead; previous updates can be seen further down.

Updated May 15th, 2024: A first look at the Air Jordan 5 “Reverse Metallic” has finally been revealed. The original Air Jordan 5 “Metallic” composition is largely intact here, the one major change obviously coming with white leather uppers rather than the classic black suede. Additionally, the sole is tinted a pale translucent shade, leaning towards aged aesthetics rather than the icy “fresh out the box” look of past retros. Outside of those minor palette swaps, the “Reverse Metallic” remain true to their name, flipping a widely-beloved edition in the Jordan Brand canon for a clean, simple colorway.
Initially tabbed for a September launch, the debut of this pair was moved back as a part of the wide-reaching Jordan delays reported last month. The Air Jordan 5 “Reverse Metallic” is currently set for a December 7th introduction. Enjoy detailed looks ahead, with our initial coverage intact further down. Photos via@sharkicks1.
Original article posted March 30th, 2024: Is Jordan Brand looking to remix another original colorway? With the “Alternate Grape” being a massive hit in 2020, the Jumpman is looking to put another 1990 classic in the spin cycle to dream up new colorway styles on the big-tongued model by Tinker Hatfield, and we just might have the next gem with this upcoming “Reverse Metallic”.
With official color specifications of White, Black, Sail, and Metallic Silver, it’s possible that this Air Jordan 5 could be some level of a remixed version of the original “Metallic” colorway from 1990. This mock-up by @zsneakerheadz represents a possible representation of what Jordan Brand has cooked up for us.
Additionally, a release date has now been earmarked for December 7th, added to a heavy slate of holiday drops.
With the second quarter of the year about to begin, here’s a rundown of upcoming 2024 Jordan releases.
