Air Jordan 5 “Black Metallic Reimagined” Arrives In 2025

Updated June 29th, 2024: A preliminary release date has just been revealed for the upcoming Air Jordan 5 “Black Metallic Reimagined”. These will be hitting store son February 15th, 2025 smack dab in the middle of the All-Star Weekend festivities. The shoes are considered a General Release, meaning many pairs will be in production.

Updated May 16th, 2024: One of the more anticipated 2025 Jordans has a significant update that may affect the demand of the release greatly. Originally, it had been reported that the Air Jordan 5 “Black/Metallic” would be returning in OG form. This latest update by @zsneakerheadz reveals that the shoes will be the next chapter of the Reimagined series in which timelesss colorways are slightly modified to expand the origin story. For 2025, this Air Jordan 5 will feature white shoe-laces (an original detail) and reflective piping on the upper — a nod to the groundbreaking reflective material on the tongue that has become a mainstay in footwear.

The Air Jordan 5 is celebrating its 35th Anniversary in 2025. With that distinction comes some measure of observance by Jordan Brand, and the excitement is already starting to build as we learn of the return of the original Black/Metallic colorway.

First debuting in 1990 at the All-Star Game, the Air Jordan 5 “Black/Metallic” is regarded as one of the greatest OG Jordans in history. Noted for its black nubuck upper, oversized reflective tongue, and translucent rubber netting on the upper, this all-time classic last hit retail in 2016 with a $220 MSRP. That heightened pricing was a reflection of the Jumpman’s Remastered execution of Retro footwear — a true-to-original approach in regards to shape and material.

According to @zsneakerheadz and Sneaker Files, Jordan Brand is planning to bring back this OG classic; full specifications are unknown, but these are expected in 2025.
