Some of the most coveted pairs of the silhouette, from the “Independence Day” pair to “Moon Landing” proudly wear American iconography- but most admire those from a distance, each a “grail” type shoe that’s costly to get your hands on. With eyes on changing that, the latest edition of the model makes your July 4th fits a more accessible proposition via the Nike Air Max 90 “USA.”
Though the shades are twisted a bit, there’s no mistaking the red white and blue that pops through this shoe’s profile. Though it would have been a successful application if Beaverton designers left it at that, the rest of the shoe takes on some interesting detail. First and foremost, the tongue swaps to an all-over chain link print, with its steely gray reflected throughout the profile. Swatches of textured suede on the webbed overlays and Swoosh also lends a premium atmosphere, elevating this above your run-of-the-mill GR pair.
