The Nike Zoom GT Cut Academy “USA” Gets Patriotic

Signature shoes may get the bulk of the shine, but quietly, the inline Nike Basketball family boasts some of their absolute best performance gear. Chief among those offerings is the GT Cut, a line that got an accessible takedown via the Nike Zoom GT Cut Academy. Ahead of both 4th of July festivities and international basketball in Paris, the shoe is arriving in classic “USA” stylings.

It’s a rather conservative look for this shoe, building navy & red accents atop a white foundation. Given that the model itself simplifies the construction of its parent model, the aesthetic change follows logically, but don’t sleep on the details with this edition.

The jagged stitching at the vamp alternates between that same red & navy, emphasizing a similar front-to-back split on the outsole. Additionally, the leather swatch at the heel contains the dominant Safari print that’s marked nearly all of the Nike Olympic collection so far, well camouflaged in a white-on-white look.

The Nike Zoom GT Cut Academy “USA” is available now, carrying a $95 retail price.
