With the flow of once-curious returning out of Beaverton like the Air Max Sunder and ACG Rufus, it’s been easy for a shoe like the Air Humara to get lost in the shuffle. Despite models coming in after its retro effort and stealing a bit of the thunder, there are few silhouettes in the Swoosh catalog that spotlight the eccentric design language of the era better. As the Fall slate comes into focus, the Nike Air Humara is taking to earthy tones of “Cosmic Clay” for the occasion.
The titular burnt sienna shade understandably takes the lead here, painting the newly-leather overlays (usually editions come with these sections in suede.) Underneath, burgundy runs wild through mesh & fabric sections while rosy pink accents are grafted in woven fashion atop nylon threads.
Taken as a whole, the earthy palette and leather overhaul leads to a decidedly boot-like atmosphere, something the spoke traction underfoot already made the Humara a match for. While the silhouette is often erroneously filed under the Nike ACG banner, looks like these make the mistake easier to understand, and consumers hoping to bring streetwear to the trail or vice versa have a suitable candidate right here.
The Nike Air Humara “Cosmic Clay” is projected to land in the coming weeks with a $160 sticker price.
