If you’re concerned about the fashionable side of the game, look no further than the revived Nike Field General ’82, a silhouette that is attempting to capture the footwear lifestyle crowd.
Aiming to appeal to those who prefer the slimmer, low-profile look popularized by the adidas Samba, Nike has turned to the grid-iron to appeal to that demand. Despite returning earlier this year in its original colorway and collaborations with UNION adding some of that co-sign cred, the Field General still has several yards ahead of it if it truly wants to score in an impactful way. Despite the clean look, simple colorway, and approachable $100 price-point the FG82 hasn’t quite cracked that code. Right now, that trend is adidas’ to keep, although we’re sure Nike has some tricks up its sleeve to further appear to the younger generation.
