Sneaker News The annual celebration of Kobe Bryant’s birthday, which falls on the eve of Mamba Day on August 24th, is just days away. For such an occasion, Nike and the Kobe Brand have prepared another angelic tribute to the late legend by offering the first-ever Kobe 9 installment in the Protro line.
The all-white “Halo” colorway first debuted with the Nike Kobe 8 Protro in August 23rd of last year. From that day on, Nike would set off on a journey of all-white Kobe sneakers in celebration of the Black Mamba’s birthday.
On August 23rd, Nike will release the Kobe 9 Elite Protro, the infamous high-top that hit retail back in 2014. Breaking ground for its unconventional high-top design and for being the first-ever Nike Basketball shoe with Flyknit, the Kobe 9 was an absolute marvel as it once again flexed the pinnacle of design and innovation often associated with Bryant’s signature shoe line.
As it stands, the Kobe 9 Elite Protro “Halo” will release on SNKRS on August 23rd with an MSRP of $240. The low-top Kobe 9 Elite will follow weeks later with a drop on September 19th.
