First Look At The Nike Kobe 9 EM Protro “Halo”

The Engineered Mesh version debuts in GS sizes.

First Look At The Nike Kobe 9 EM Protro “Halo”

In celebration of Kobe Bryant’s birthday on August 23rd, Nike has prepared yet another angelic tribute to the late hoops legend by dressing up one of his iconic signature shoes in an all-white colorway. For 2024, the Kobe 9 is called to action as the innovative model is revealed in its first-ever Protro form, but joining the high-top is a low-cut version exclusively for kids.

Unlike the Kobe 9 Elite models that utilized a Flyknit exterior, the Kobe 9 EM featured a different Engineered Mesh material up top. The Kobe 9 EM models were also much lower in price back in 2014; the Engineered Mesh cost you $160, while the Elite Low was set at $200.

This upcoming release, made in GS sizes only, meets somewhere in the middle; while it has the Mesh layer on the upper, Nike has chosen to utilize the carbon fiber plates on the midsole — a feature that was not present on the Kobe 9 EM models during its original run ten years ago.

This kids-exclusive model will be release alongside the Kobe 9 Elite Protro “Halo” on August 23rd, 2024. MSRP is set at $120.
