Nike Air Max Sunder “Black/Metallic Silver” Releases On September 18th

A stealthy look for the revitalized cult classic.

Nike Air Max Sunder “Black/Metallic Silver” Releases On September 18th

Updated August 28th, 2024: The release date for the Nike Air Max Sunder “Metallic Silver” has been pushed from September 5th to September 18th.

The Air Max Sunder moment has finally arrived, an trio of looks for the 90s-era silhouette kicking off the telegraphed retro run (“Fuschia Flash” and “Electric Green” are still available at select outlets.) Though those looks are plenty successful, we’ve been tracking how Beaverton will iterate on those designs as the year plays out, and we’re getting a new piece of the puzzle with the impending “Black/Metallic Silver.”

Relative to those aforementioned neon-tinged outfits, this marks a pretty big about face towards sleekier aesthetics. Twilight truly dawns across this full profile, painting the shoe essentially from heel to toe in nocturnal notes of dark grey and jet black. The few sections on the upper that are spared are the reflective panels pasted atop the mudguard, instead clad in steely blue/gray, and Nike Air branding on the pull tabs, bearing “Metallic Silver” accents that mirror the geometric outsole traction underneath.

The Nike Air Max Sunder “Black/Metallic Silver” is queued up for a September 18th release, hitting SNKRS/Nike.com and partnering retailers. Be ready for a $180 retail price upon arrival. To get a sense before launch, check out official images embedded just below.
