Andrew Rizzo In celebration of Ja Morant’s induction to the Murray State Hall of Fame this summer, Nike gifted the Memphis Grizzlies star a special pair of his next signature shoe, providing us with our first official look at the Nike Ja 2 ahead of its Fall 2024 release. We’ve spilled plenty of ink on newly surfaced colorways since then, including pairs for Halloween and Christmas, but now with NBA basketball looming closer by the day, the model looks poised to debut by way of the very same “Induction” colorway spotted back in July.
The Nike Ja 2 “Induction” is the only colorway to date that features full-length TPU sidewalls, communicating a sleek aesthetic where others opt for separate leather and suede panels. In all likelihood, it appears the latest Ja Morant shoe will sport a variety of different material compositions moving forward.
In lieu of proper Murray State colors, the sidewalls feature a periwinkle and yellow mix. Slash-like detailing appears on both the TPU shell and mesh layer underneath, rendering a three-dimensional effect, while text reading “Midnight Series” appears on the lateral heel. Otherwise, the tongue and toe box fulfill a balanced mix in a classy purple shade.
As mentioned, the Nike Ja 2 “Induction” releases September 26th for $130 in men’s sizes. Currently, it’s poised to be the first colorway to hit shelves. See official images below and turn to our “Where To Buy” section for purchase links when the time comes.
