Salomon Just Released The Ultimate Hybrid Winter Shoe

Through models like the XT-6 and Speedcross, Salomon has risen to become one of the footwear industry’s trendiest brands, appealing directly to the “gorpcore” wave and winning favorability among lifestyle-minded consumers. At the same time, the French sports equipment brand hasn’t lost sight of what made it relevant in the first place, routinely innovating with new product under the Salomon Advance banner. With cold weather on the horizon, Salomon just released upgraded versions of two different models.

Kicking off the duo is the Salomon Snowclog Advanced, a more conditions-permitting take on the archival Snowclog proper (which was brought back earlier this year). As seen below, the shoe is made to be worn in two different styles. Complete with a detachable weather-resistant gaiter, the Snowclog Advanced allows wearers to quickly switch things up on the go, fulfilling multiple roles in one stroke.

Also new to Salomon is the Alpinway Advanced, a fresh version of the brand’s rock climbing shoe that came out just a few months ago. Aside from a slightly larger sole and suede forefoot overlay, there don’t appear to be any technical upgrades to report. However, marketing material for the new model heightens focus on versatility, suggesting the shoes have been tweaked with lifestyle-minded consumers in mind.

As mentioned, the Snowclog and Alpinway Advanced are both available now via Salomon, retailing for $230 and $200, respectively. Scroll through official images of both shoes here if you’re considering adding one to your winter rotation.
