Chief among them is Aaron Judge, captain of the Yankees, MLB home run record-breaker, and a titan of the NYC sports scene. For Tuesday night’s Yankees vs Orioles matchup in the Bronx, the Jordan Brand athlete broke out a special pair of custom Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low cleats, launching his 56th round-tripper of the season in the process.
The cleats don’t take after any one Travis Scott Jordan 1 Low, but deliver a familiar assortment of contemporary tones. The famed reverse Swoosh makes an appearance in dark brown, while orange Cactus Jack branding dots the tongue and backtab. Notably, Yankee newcomer and fellow Jordan Brand athlete Jazz Chisholm wore the same cleats.
Judge’s Travis Scott cleats only strengthen La Flame’s ties to the diamond. Travis Scott debuted a new signature Nike model called the Field Jaxx at All-Star Weekend this summer; essentially a hybrid inspired by the Nike Spiridon and Land Shark baseball cleat. Prior to that limited release, Scott broke out a pair during his annual HBCU Classic in Houston, suggesting Nike and co. are aiming to establish a clear tie to America’s pastime.
