A Brief History
The Air Jordan 14 Black Toe is one of the original colorways of the Air Jordan 14. Originally releasing in 1998 and designed by none other than Tinker Hatfield, the Black Toe 14s were never worn by Michael Jordan in an NBA game.
The Black Toes released on two other occasions between the original ’98 date and the 2024 Retro. In 2006, an altered version of the shoe made it to retail featuring the perforated leather upper. In 2014, the original smooth white leather was released to the public, marking the true first-ever Retro of the sneaker.
A Full Breakdown Of The 2024 Release
Jordan Brand’s Holiday 2024 sneaker line-up looks much different than originally expected. First, several Jordan releases have been cancelled outright, thinning out the release slate as the brand aims for a gargantuan 2025. Second, the Air Jordan 1 “Black Toe Reimagined” has been postponed from its original October release date to an undisclosed day next year. Gladly, the upcoming Air Jordan 14 remains undisturbed as official images appear ahead of the November 2nd release.
Although we already presented official retailers images back in July, the surfacing of the official brand images should be a boon considering the scattered and unpredictable changes mentioned below. Keeping true to the 1999 original model, Jordan Brand presents this widely popular XIV release with the white tumbled leather upper and black suede toe-box — thus the “Black Toe” nickname.
Although technically releasing outside of Michael Jordan’s playing days and ergo never landing on GOAT’s feet in an NBA game, the Black Toe Jordan 14 isn’t undermined by the Jordan community at any capacity.
