Sneaker News The annual Ekiden offering by Nike Running is on fire. Four models are unveiled in the upcoming collection, taking inspiration from the Zoom Streak Spectrum running shoe from 2002.
Sneaker News first revealed the shoes earlier in August, dropping first looks the ZoomX VaporFly 3 and the Zoom Fly 6 donning the distinct flame graphic on the upper. Now, Nike has finally followed up with a full reveal, unveiling the high-end AlphaFly 3 as well as the Rival Fly 4.
The Ekiden series is a unique collection of Nike Running footwear and gear that carries its own distinct colorways and patterns. Designed to celebrate Japan’s long-distance relay runners, the Ekiden series has produced some of the most sought-after pairs in the brand’s running catalog.
The 2025 collection features the iconic flames of the Zoom Streak Spectrum, a shoe that broke records in its heyday. Each pair is applied with the fiery pattern at the toe, with additional red and purple hits throughout. The Rival Fly 4 utilizes the flames on the Swoosh only, while the upper keeps to all-white.
Although labeled as a 2025 collection, the Nike Running Ekiden Collection will be available on November 22nd in Japan, followed by a global launch on December 4th.
