The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 is now well-established as one of Beaverton’s real bread-and-butter models. Its enduring popularity has even prompted Oregon creatives to begin retro efforts for past colorways, with five-years-later restocks for some of its earliest bring-back pairs. While the Vomero 5 “Smoke Grey” we’ve got on tap is a new development, the design language from the silhouette’s turn-of-the-decade colorways is still front and center.
The melding of neutral grey hues and a blacked-out cage at the quarter prompts us to make that comparison, but arguably, the central design feature comes further back on the shoe. In stark contrast to the tonal treatment on the shoe’s body, a peach sock-liner stands boldly in the back half, presenting a novel color-blocking scheme. Even with dozens of new looks for the Vomero 5 hitting shelves in 2025, this “Smoke Grey” edition proves there’s still more meat on the bone, demonstrating a perfect piece of transitional wear as we shift from the holidays towards Spring.
