Matt Varga The ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 continues to dominate everyday fits and inspo posts, arguably the biggest driver and beneficiary of current tech runner trends. Though most of our coverage in recent months has gravitated towards its red-hot collaborative streak, the Japanese brand is intent on showing that their mainline releases can be just as much of a knockout punch, clear and present once again with the GEL-Kayano 14 “Fjord Grey.”
Though from a distance this maintains the dominant chrome tonality that’s a calling card for the silhouette at this point, the shoe embraces just-adjacent teal on much of the overlays. Doses of jet black through the Tiger Stripes logo and exposed GEL on the midsole add a bit of depth to the design, contrasting well with the pure white wide mesh that sets the foundation on the shoe’s base layer.
The ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 “Fjord Grey” is available via ASICS.com now via member access, with retail set at $150. A wider launch is likely coming shortly.
